What is ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL?

ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL is very powerful cell phone and price is very good.  This is just $199.00 USD. Also, this is unlocked cell phone. Since I couldn't find information on the Internet about ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL in United States (AT&T network), I describe my experience as of 2018/01/19.

Check 3G/LTE bands (frequencies) in your area before you purchase

Most unlocked phones don't support all carrier's 3G/LTE network bands. If your carrier doesn't support the following network bands, you may not be able to connect to 3G or LTE.

According to the above 3G/LTE bands information, we can use ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL with AT&T network, so I decided to buy the phone. Please note that I live in Colorado United States.

If you don't know what LTE bands you receive, you can check LTE bands by utilizing "LTE Discovery" android app. I strongly recommend to check LTE bands in your area.

I receive LTE band 4 in my area (Colorado) as of 2018/01/19.

Change SIM card if necessary

We need nano SIM card for ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL. If your SIM card is not nano SIM card, you need to visit AT&T shop. Bring your old phone with SIM card and new phone. AT&T charges $5 now (As of 2018/01/19).
When you visit AT&T shop, they need new phone's IMEI (like device identifier). Since this phone has 2 SIM slots, we need to tell them one of SIM slot's IMEI. You can see IMEI on the phone setting. Once IMEI is registered into AT&T's system, we can put nano SIM card into appropriate SIM slot, then power on ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL.

You should be able to see your cell phone number in the setting and should be able to receive calls as well as text message. Also, data connection setting (APN setting) is automatically set up, so you can connect to AT&T 3G/LTE network.

3G/LTE network speed

My current LTE connection is band 4. I tested how fast AT&T LTE. Below is the result. This is very fast!

As a result of that, I strongly recommend ASUS Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL.
